Atlanta, GA—Following the merger between StudentsFirst and 50CAN in April, StudentsFirst Georgia will operate as GeorgiaCAN: The Georgia Campaign for Achievement Now. GeorgiaCAN will continue advocating for common-sense education policy that puts Georgia students first while leveraging the experience, knowledge and success of partner campaigns in neighboring states also working under the 50CAN network.
Who: GeorgiaCAN will continue to be led by Executive Director Michael O’Sullivan.
What: GeorgiaCAN seeks to identify and advance common-sense policies that put the needs of students first. We focus on teacher training, development and pipelines, school choice, governance and accountability, early education, and college- and career-readiness.
Why: We believe all Georgia students deserve the opportunity to attend a great school and receive a great education that prepares them for life.
How: We engage local stakeholders — from community members to policy makers — to advocate for student success throughout the entire public education system. We accomplish our goals through grassroots, legislative, electoral and policy research efforts.

GeorgiaCAN: The Georgia Campaign for Achievement Now, formerly StudentsFirst Georgia, has been active in Georgia since 2011. We are a nonprofit education organization that advocates for all students across the state to have access to high-quality schools. Our goal is to ensure that students across Georgia have the opportunity to attend great schools and receive a great education that prepares them for future academic and professional success. We work to advance policies and programs that prioritize positive impacts for students statewide–especially those with the greatest needs.
