In 2008, Georgia state lawmakers passed legislation to create the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship. This program allows students with an IEP or approved 504 to attend a state approved private school. Families are awarded tuition dollars to attend these schools via the state. The amount of dollars is determined by services provided in the child’s IEP or 504. You can see your child’s scholarship amount by completing the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship calculator. The calculator will open for the 2022-2023 school year in July. Georgia Public School students in PreK through 12th grade qualify for this program.
