DeKalb County Parent Fellow

Nakhia Hill is a lifelong DeKalb County resident, education leader, parent advocate, and newly selected GeorgiaCAN Fellow representing the voices of DeKalb parents, students, and community members. With more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership, instructional development, and community engagement, she is committed to building stronger partnerships between families, schools, and community organizations to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education. As the 2026-2027 PTSA President of Martin Luther King Jr. High School and Education Chair for NAACP DeKalb, Nakhia is passionate about elevating student voice, empowering parents to move from awareness to action, and creating meaningful opportunities for civic engagement. Guided by her Gallup strengths of Achiever, Woo, Communication, Includer, and Activator, she brings people together around a shared vision of educational excellence, equity, and opportunity for all DeKalb students. Through the GeorgiaCAN Fellowship, Nakhia looks forward to amplifying community voices, strengthening advocacy efforts, and helping shape a brighter future for the next generation.
