THE CHALLENGE: Currently, the state of Georgia spends more than $8.5 billion on K-12 education, with another $7.5 billion coming from federal and local funds.*  That’s nearly half the state budget. Despite this massive amount of education funding, student performance in Georgia has been lackluster. Furthermore, most of the money allocated by the state’s contribution comes with significant strings attached, limiting its ability to help our kids get all the resources they deserve.

THE SOLUTION: Fix how we fund education by tying the money more closely to the student and giving districts the flexibility to spend that money on things that will give our kids a greater chance at success. Districts know their students’ needs best.
